Hemptons is a
manufacturer and distributor of Hemp products.
We are a
“Hemp only” company based in Johannesburg, South Africa, operational since 2004.
Although we
manufacture our products locally (in South Africa), we are not a
supplier of raw materials other than Hemp Seed Oil.
Our product
ranges include natural
Body Products,
Hemp Foods,
Organic Nutritional Oils
& Capsules,
Food Grade & Cosmetic Grade Oils.
We do not have a Retail (physical)
outlet, but sell our
products to Retail outlets (shops) through
distributors
as well as directly to the public via our
on-line
store.
Our products are
available countrywide through most Health Shops, Pharmacies and other
selected
Retail Outlets.
The seed used in the manufacture of
the Foods and Nutritional Oils are Organically Grown
(certificates available).
Our Body Products are formulated as naturally as possible -
by that we mean that where possible, we use only natural or Ecocert Certified
raw materials.
There
are ingredients that you will never find in any
Hemptons' body care products. Things like petroleum
based raw materials -
which is not a renewable resource and can be toxic.
Sodium & Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate, which are harsh, aggressive
ingredients used in most cleansing products like
Shampoo's, Shower Gels, Bath Foams, Bubble Baths,
Toothpastes etc. .. and when was
the last time you saw a farmer growing Propylene
Glycol? Rather than loading our products up with
harsh chemicals or unnecessary fillers, we offer you
only the good stuff! Yes, they may be a bit more
expensive than the mass-produced products found in
most supermarkets, but when you use our products you
know you are using a genuinely natural product (not
just something that uses 'natural' on the label to
make it sound that way).
A few of
our products contain ingredients derived from
animals, such as beeswax .. and for that we thank
them - our products are however, never tested on animals
(only guinea pigs .. such as friends and family)!
Please Note : We do not supply
seed for personal or agricultural use as Hemp is still a regulated crop and cannot
be imported into or grown in South Africa.
We do not supply
papers, fabrics, yarns, rope etc. (and as we don't stock it, we don't
know who else does).

Claim that Hemp Oil Cures Cancer
In response to
the
Video currently being flighted on TV that claims that "Hemp Oil" cures cancer.
This oil that Rick Simpson calls "Hemp Oil", is in fact high
Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) containing Marijuana Oil obtained from
the Cannabis Indica
plant.
Hemptons does not
stock or sell this Oil. We also don't know where to obtain the Oil as it
is illegal to import, posses or sell this Oil in South Africa.
The
Oil Hemptons sells is organic Hemp Seed Oil obtained by cold pressing
the seed of the Cannabis Sativa or Hemp plant.
This Oil
has a high Essential
Fatty Acid content, but 0% THC and is indeed used in the treatment /
prevention of cancer.
According to the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental
Therapeutics "Fast Forward", Hemp Seed Oil with high non- phycho-active CBD
produce significant anti-tumour activity both in vitro and in vivo,
thus suggesting an application as an anti-neoplastic (tumour
preventing) agent."
